Orthopaedic Surgery as an ElectiveOrthopaedic surgery is an elective rotation for Mac's PA program. This means it is not mandatory to take (not a core rotation). Your surgery rotation is generally 6 weeks long - 4 weeks in general surgery, and two weeks in a selective (a subspecialty of surgery - which includes urology, vascular, ENT, orthopaedics, plastics, etc.). So you may choose to take it for a selective, or as a separate elective (two to four weeks) on its own.
