Canadian Association of Physician Assistants Becoming a Member
The Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA) represents Physicians Assistants (PAs) and PA students across Canada and internationally. They advocate for the profession, while ultimately trying to ensure accessible and high quality health care for Canadians.
You may be thinking that it is not worth joining at this early stage of your career. However, there are many reasons to become a member that you may not have even realized! First of all, you will be supporting the future of the profession in Canada and adding to the many national voices representing PAs in Canada. Your membership will allow you to write the Physician Assistant Entry to Practice Certification Examination giving you the designation of a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA). Since the student membership is valid for two years during your education, you will receive benefits for the whole time as opposed to paying the same amount before writing the certification exam. Some of these benefits include networking opportunities with other PAs online or at the annual conference, online members only discussion, access to career listings, access to the Entry-to-Practice-Guide, discounts on textbooks through McGraw-Hill and travel discounts on car rentals and VIA rail.
If you have any questions or would like more information about becoming involved with CAPA, you can contact CAPA directly at: [email protected] or the National Student Representative at: [email protected].
